– HALF DAY RETREAT WITH EMMA PALMER
Our nervous system can be among the most influential forces shaping our lived experience – colouring perception, emotion and the thoughts that form around this physiological state long before the mind has chance to catch up.
We don’t so much experience life as it happens, but through the state of the nervous system that meets it: what feels safe or threatening, manageable or overwhelming; how clearly we can think, how deeply we can rest, how openly we can connect, and how much patience, pleasure and possibility we are able to access in any given moment.
A reflexive lens uniquely crafted through the journey of our lives, the intensity of modern living can place our nervous system under sustained pressure that very easily leads to dysregulation where even ordinary demands can feel impossible, small uncertainties can become all-consuming, and otherwise calm moments remain charged with unease.
However, when this same system is sufficiently regulated, supported and nurtured, its influence over our experience can be equally potent – opening a little more space between stimulus and response, so we might meet the inevitable challenge and uncertainty of life with greater clarity, resilience, creativity, ease and availability.
Homecoming: Nervous System Reset is a Half Day Retreat created as both an immediate experiential reset and an invitation into a more enduring relationship with your own capacity for balance.
It’s your opportunity to step out of the accumulated momentum of stress, overstimulation and habitual activation, into a tangible experience of reset, realignment and reconnection, as Emma lovingly guides you through a deeply nourishing morning of gentle movement, breath and somatic practices designed to support the nervous system in returning home to balance.
Yet it’s also a space for cultivating a lasting capacity for regulation beyond the retreat container, with accessible insight into supporting a more conscious relationship with your nervous system, together with simple, practical techniques that can be drawn upon in the moments you find yourself pulled away from your centre.
Because while we cannot remove the ever-shifting conditions of life, we can restore greater sovereignty over the ground from which we meet them.
