– A YOGA INTENSIVE WITH EMMA PALMER
“Perhaps a Once-Born person awakens one morning and feels the beckoning finger of fate loosening disturbing questions: “Is this all there is to life? Will I always feel the same? Do I not have some purpose to fulfill, some greater kindness to give, some inner freedom to taste?” And then he gets out of bed and dresses for work, and he doesn’t attend to the soul’s questions. The next morning, and all the next mornings, he lives as if the soul was a figment of a flighty imagination. This inattention makes him confused, or numb, or sad, or angry.
A Twice-Born person pays attention when the soul pokes its head through the clouds of a half-lived life. Whether through choice or calamity, the Twice-Born person goes into the woods, loses the straight way, makes mistakes, suffers loss, and confronts that which needs to change within himself in order to live a more genuine and radiant life.”

It is without doubt that for some, 2016 has been an incredibly challenging year! However it’s what we do with those challenges that matters the most! This sets the foundation for our final Moksha Intensive for 2016 where we focus on the ways in which the challenges of the past year have, influenced, shaped and contributed to our learning, growth and transformation.
Many of the ancient teachings invite us to appreciate and understand that our greatest challenges in life serve as our greatest teachers, however, the true gifts of these teachings come alive when integrated into who we are, how we live our lives and how they ripple into our relationships with others. Transformation in its fullest expression moves through all layers (Koshas) of our being and to the manifestation of Vidya; a deep truthful awareness of the essence of who we truly are and our sense of purpose. This deeper understanding generates positive changes to our cellular biology, DNA replication as well as creating positive changes to cognition in that how we think and process our life experiences becomes more enriching and more in line with the truth of who we are.
It is in the aftermath of transformation where alignment within the energy centers and channels within the subtle body is needed most, to ground ourselves and consolidate the rich teachings to establish long lasting change. The Alchemy of Transformation incorporates asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting and guided visualizations to rebalance and realign the energetic principles within the Koshas. This energetic alignment helps us to gain a deeper understanding and awareness of the teachings and leads us to a space of peace, as Michael Singer says, “Come from a space of peace and you’ll find that you can deal with anything”. And when we come from that place of peace, growth and transformation, our path then leads us to the state of Abhaya, the experience of fearlessness in the face of change.
“Drum sounds rise on the air, and with them, my heart. A voice inside the beat says, I know you are tired, but come. This is the way.”
– Rumi
