AUTUMN DAY RETREAT - Moksha Yoga

AUTUMN DAY RETREAT

WITH EMMA PALMER

Our seasonal Day Retreats are your opportunity to gift a devotional day to your body, mind and spirit as we together pause to reset, recalibrate and realign ourselves into the sacred Flow of life. With the busyness of daily routines and undulating terrain of inevitable challenges so easily sweeping us off course, fully reattuning ourselves to the cyclical shift in seasons moving through the whole of nature can be a particularly invaluable portal of reconnection with the sacred rhythms of our true essence.

As we prepare to move into the days of Autumn, we are inherently guided to slow down, go inwards and nourish as we enter the natural process of gentle surrender and release in preparation for new chapters ahead. In Āyurveda, the word Ṛtucaryā relates to practices and resources that follow the natural intelligence of transition through the seasons – Ritu meaning “season” and caryā “to follow”.

Our Autumn Day Retreat brings the guiding light of these principles to a day of aligning with the teachings of Autumn and embracing this journey of perpetual transition, while giving you the tools to imbue your Sādhanā and daily routines with practices that support the adjustment into shorter, cooler and drier days – knowing it is our continued devotion to practice that empowers us to gracefully hold space for whatever moves through ourselves and our lives in the months ahead.

Guided by the ancient wisdom of Āyurveda, we’ll explore the many ways we can stay grounded during a time where the Vāta Doṣa increases and the element of air is at its peak, while also giving particular focus to practices that support the water organs of the body including the skin, lungs and kidneys as they prepare for the drier months of autumn and winter.

The day begins with the chanting of mantra and a guided meditation, followed by a grounding practice bringing life force to the watery matrix of the body and supporting the Vyāna Prāṇa that flows through the nerve channels. We will then explore the practices of kriyā for digestion, prāṇāyāma that cleanse the water organs and nourish the nervous system, before moving into a gentle āsana flow with guided śavāsana and contemplation practices designed to open a portal of deeper awareness into what is asking to fall away, be surrendered and released.

After brunch, a deeply insightful Dharma Talk offers rich philosophical teachings as to how we can cultivate faith in the unfoldment and cocreation of consciousness, before exploring the Āyurvedic principles and daily practices we can adopt to bring Ṛtucaryā to our journey through the autumn months. The final practices of the day are in service to the nervous system through Yoga Nidrā and culminating in a deep, soul-nourishing Sound Bath experience.

This day of realignment, reflection and self-nourishment is suitable for seekers of all levels, and you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of the practices, techniques and resources you can bring into your own daily life as a means of continuing support and attunement.
