– A YOGA INTENSIVE WITH EMMA PALMER

The ancient Yogis followed the principle that everything in the universe is made up of five elements, which also happen to be present in the human body. These elements are known as the Pancha Mahabhuta and consist of earth (Pṛthvī), water (Jaḷ), fire (Agnī) air (Vāyu) and ether (Ākāśa).

It is the essence of Prana (life energy) flowing effortlessly through the element of Vāyu that forms the basis of our April Yoga Intensive.

The element of Vāyu is mainly associated with movement and is most powerfully felt in our asana practice, when we feel we could fly through our practice forever! As we flow through our vinyasa krama, the Vāyus fan the fires of the alchemist’s furnace guiding us through the pathways of inner transformation. The Chandogya-Upanishad states the vital winds of Vāyu are the “gatekeepers to the heavenly world”. They knew that ensuring efficient, uninterrupted flow of Prana through the Vāyu was the basis of health and vitality at every level of being. By knowing the function and purpose of Vāyu we have the ability to access an “inner heaven” thereby transcending dualistic consciousness.

When the Prana flows freely through all Vāyu we experience greater understanding, accessing deeper insights and clarity as to the wisdom of our human experiences. This leads us to a sense of holistic wellness and perhaps explains why we are so drawn to return to our mat, time and time again.

This serves as the beginning of our transformation, a returning to the embodiment of who we are truly meant to be in this lifetime.

Our April Yoga Intensive focuses on the sequence of Asana and placement of Pranayama & Mudra to guide you on a deeper journey within as our practices sweep through the winds of Prana. We will learn the function and purpose of the 5 major Vāyu as we journey through the practice and return to that state of inner bliss, inner trust and peace.

MOKSHA YOGA INTENSIVES

Explore into the deeper layers of your practice, experience its transformational gifts and allow the true purpose of yoga to become realised by immersing yourself in a 3-hour journey devoted to your mind, your body and your spirit.

Moksha Yoga Intensives are designed to provide you with the opportunity and guidance to move deeper into your experience of yoga with 3 hours of dedicated practice, and are open to all levels of experience except for absolute beginners.

The Intensives include 1.5-2 hours of Asana (physical postures) integrated with Pranayama (breathing practices) and Yoga Philosophy, before moving into a deep Yoga Nidra or Savasana, followed by Chanting and completing with a Meditation practice. Our Yoga Intensives are a deeply spiritual yet physically and mentally challenging experience.
