Our 60-hour Sound Medicine Facilitator Training is a comprehensive, holistic and hands-on journey into the world of sound therapy, empowering you with the deep understanding and practical skillset you need to expertly craft and artfully channel optimally healing soundscapes for a broad spectrum of settings.

Join Lead Facilitator Emma Palmer and our team of sound experts on a transformative 60-hr training journey across 3 weekends to discover the ancient wisdom, latest science and potent therapeutic possibilities of vibrational medicine, while developing the practical proficiency for optimally harnessing the healing power of sound.

Module 1: Foundations of Sound Medicine
Our first weekend together provides a comprehensive introduction to sound medicine, from the sacred spiritual traditions of ancient cultures to modern-day scientific understanding of sound waves and their myriad effects, while guiding you through hands-on practical exploration of various sound healing instruments and integrating a range of methodologies and techniques.
MODULE 1 CURRICULUM
Module 1: Foundations of Sound Medicine (10 – 11 October)

- History & Philosophy of Sound Medicine – Origins, Cultural Traditions & Philosophical Foundations of Sound Healing Practices
- Sacred Sound Traditions – Exploring the cultural and spiritual aspects of sound healing from different traditions
- Sound Medicine & The Subtle Body
- Demonstration & Playing Techniques of Sound Bowls
- Scientific Foundations of Sound Medicine – Exploring the nature of sound, frequency, vibration, resonance, dissonance and sound waves
- Understanding Solfeggio Frequencies & The Schuman Resonance
- The Physiology of Sound – The Research & Science of Sound Medicine
- Instruments and Tools Part 1 – Introduction to various sound healing instruments (crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, Koshi) and methodology for each
- Practical Teaching Labs 1 – Hands-on practice sessions to integrate techniques and develop personal practice
Module 2: Advanced Applications and Teaching Methodology
Our second weekend delves into the advanced use of sound healing instruments, effective teaching methodologies and therapeutic applications of sound for various health conditions. You’ll discover how to integrate sound medicine into yoga, meditation and pranayama, expand your practical proficiency with advanced instruments and gain an introduction to the potent effects of chanting and mantra.
MODULE 2 CURRICULUM
Module 2: Advanced Applications and Teaching Methodology (31 October – 1 November)
- Instruments and Tools Part 2 – Introduction to various sound healing instruments (drums, tuning forks, gongs, rain sticks) and methodology for each
- Therapeutic Application of Sound Medicine 1 – cancer, stress, depression, sleep, chronic pain, prenatal
- Teaching Methodology for Group Classes – Developing lesson plans, understanding the principles of creating a therapeutic sound bath experience, structuring sound healing workshops and classes.
- Integrating Sound Medicine into Yoga, Meditation & Pranayama Classes
- Practical Teaching Labs 2
- Introduction to Chanting & Sacred Mantra
Module 3: Professional Practice and Integration in Sound Medicine
Our final weekend of training explores the skills for holding space, managing group dynamics and creating a supportive healing environment, as well as applying sound therapy to medical, psychological and complementary healthcare contexts. Extensive practical labs provide the opportunity for hands-on teaching experience, before we conclude with an integration and graduation ceremony to reflect on growth and celebrate achievements.

Module 3: Professional Practice and Integration in Sound Medicine (21 – 22 November)
- Art of Holding Space – Techniques for managing group dynamics, addressing participant needs and fostering a supportive learning environment
- Ethical Principles & Considerations – Understanding ethical guidelines and responsibilities as a sound medicine teacher
- Practical Teaching Labs 3 – Guided opportunities to teach sound healing sessions and receive constructive feedback
- Therapeutic Application 2 – Using sound in medical & psychological contexts
- Integration and Graduation Ceremony – Reflecting on personal and professional growth, sharing insights and celebrating completion of the program
FREE PRANAYAMA TASTER & INFO EVENING
Join Emma for a very special evening to experience the true potential of Prāṇāyāma for yourself and gain a direct felt-sense of just how deep-reaching its beneficial impacts can be as they permeate through every layer of your being.
You’ll take away some key techniques for shifting your state and influencing Prāṇic flow, as well as some invaluable pointers for refining your own Prāṇāyāma practice if you already have one.
It’s also your opportunity to have all your questions answered about our 80-hour Pranayama Teacher Training, as Emma shines her light of insight and inspiration across all you can expect from this incredibly rewarding course.
We’d love to meet you face-to-face at Moksha and the event will also be made available to join live and interactive online for those who can’t make it to the studio to experience in-person.

ENROLMENT PROCEDURE
All enrolments can be made online through the Moksha Yoga website at www.mokshayoga.com.au/sound-medicine-training
Students undertaking this course are required to finalise payment at the point of enrolment. The Early Bird Rate for the training in full closes on Monday 14 September 2026, after which the full training price will apply. Final date for all enrolments is Monday 5 October 2026.
Payment via Instalments requires a non-refundable $595 deposit to be made on enrolment, with the balance payable via 3 x equal instalment payments of $300 to be automatically deducted the day prior to each attendance weekend of the course (being Friday 9 October, 30 October and 20 November 2026).
Once enrolment and payment has been made, the Moksha Academy Student Withdrawal and Refund Policy will apply (detailed below).
REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
48 Contact hours: 3 x training weekends; including Practice Labs, Theory Labs and Teaching Labs (10am – 6pm, incl breaks) hosted at Moksha Yoga, Bentleigh VIC. A minimum 85% attendance rate is required.
12 Non-contact hours: incl home study, practice and assessment preparation for creating a deliverable Sound Bath experience.
GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
We welcome applications from participants 18 years of age and over.
The Moksha Academy’s primary intention when considering an enrolment is that the applicant demonstrates potential to successfully complete and succeed on their chosen course, including: effective interpersonal and communication skills; a genuine, empathic and compassionate nature; a mature and responsible outlook; a dedicated willingness to commit to the course and a consistent personal meditation practice.
STUDENT WITHDRAWAL & REFUND POLICY
We strongly recommend that before enrolling you ensure you are able to make the commitment to the course in its entirety in order to successfully meet the assessment criteria and graduate. All requests to withdraw from the training must be made in writing and sent via email or post to the Moksha Academy of Yoga.
Where notification of withdrawal is received at least 4 weeks prior to course commencement, the Academy will refund any fees less a non-refundable deposit of $595 plus an administrative fee of $200 to cover the cost of backfilling the vacancy and updating the schedules (total $795)
Where notification of withdrawal is received 2-4 weeks prior to course commencement, the Academy will refund any fees less the non-refundable deposit of $595 plus an administrative fee of $400 to cover the cost of backfilling the vacancy and updating the schedules (total $995)
Where the Academy receives notification in writing to withdraw from the course less than 2 weeks prior to course commencement, students are not entitled to any refund of course fees.
Please note, the Moksha Academy of Yoga reserves the right to cancel or amend any training course in the unlikely event of insufficient enrolment. Notice will be provided with the option to reschedule for a future course date or to receive a full refund of fees.
