PRANAYAMA TEACHER TRAINING
– WITH EMMA PALMER
In its truest essence and when performed correctly, Prāṇāyāma is capable of generating some of the most profound tangible shifts to our state of being. Far beyond the commonly diluted potency of modern-day breathwork, the traditional integrity and nuances key to the effectiveness of these truly transformative practices came from the Yogis’ deep understanding of this “vital energy”, “life force”, or Prāṇā, and our fundamental make-up.
Now, through the lens of leading-edge science, we are afforded clear insight into what is actually occurring at a biochemical, physiological and psychological level when these practices are applied to optimise the utilisation of what the Yogis knew as Prāṇā through every layer of our being. This power of Prāṇāyāma can be harnessed as either a truly life-changing personal practice, or to heighten the experiential impact of any Yoga and Meditation class, while its proven therapeutic effects can be invaluable in a near endless array of fields – from clinical psychology to pain management, and from anxiety support to peak athletic performance.
Our 80-hour Pranayama Teacher Training with Emma Palmer opens you to a whole world of extraordinary possibilities through the marriage of undiluted ancient wisdom on energetics and the latest scientific understanding of its systemic impact. Through experiential practical mastery you’ll unlock the full potential in these techniques, while becoming empowered to confidently facilitate optimal Prāṇāyāma delivery – wherever you may choose to share its countless benefits to cellular health, nervous system regulation, mental wellbeing and, as the Yogis most prominently intended, the potent channel it can open to our deepest spiritual Awarenesses.

COURSE DETAILS
Founded on Emma’s firsthand engagement with Prāṇāyāma practices for over 25 years, from studying the Haṭhayogapradīpikā with one of her first teachers Jean-Alain d’Argent through to advanced trainings with Master Yogi-Prānācharya Dr Paul Dallaghan, this course is curated to be a highly practical and experiential journey that deeply honours the sacred traditions of the practice.
Over six Saturdays, spanning an immersive four-month journey, you’ll explore a rich array of inspiring subjects and acquire a growing toolbox of techniques as you delve deep into cultivating your own Prāṇāyāma practice and discover its far-reaching positive impacts on your daily life. Each morning of the training opens with a 2-hour Prāṇāyāma practice where all the traditional techniques you’re learning really come to life and, following a selection of Practice Labs, Theory Labs and Teaching Labs (our Full Curriculum details each module below), the day will conclude with an hourlong afternoon/evening practice.

Meet Emma Palmer
EMMA PALMER
FOUNDING PRINCIPAL & DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
The thread of Emma’s spiritual life began during her early years in London, where the seeds of faith were first sewn and ultimately guided her to explore the practice of meditation in her mid-teens. When Emma arrived on the Australian shores in 1998, she first discovered the teachings of non-dual Kashmir Shaivism through the Siddha Yoga lineage at the Melbourne Ashram. It was here that she encountered the sublime vibrations of chanting and Satsaṅg, which awakened a lifelong exploration of the practices and philosophy of Yoga, including Āsana, Meditation, Mantra, Kriyā, and Prāṇāyāma.
The transformative essence of these teachings inspired Emma to undertake a 1400-hour Yoga Teacher Training between 2001 and 2003. In June 2004, she stepped fully into her dharma, dedicating her life to teaching Yoga and Meditation as her full-time path. Between 2023 and 2025, Emma deepened her commitment to the path of breath and spirit by completing an additional 400 hours of Advanced Prāṇāyāma and Kriyā training with Master Prāṇācārya Dr Paul Dallaghan. This immersion into the subtle sciences of breath, purification, and inner stillness expanded not only the depth of her personal practice but also the breadth of wisdom she reverentially shares with others.
Moksha Yoga was organically and divinely founded in 2005 and has been lovingly guided by Emma’s leadership ever since. In 2010, she envisioned and birthed The Moksha Academy, a Yoga Teacher Training program rooted in thorough, practical, and hands-on learning. Today, the Academy continues to uphold the highest standards of training and has cultivated some of the most respected Yoga Teachers in Australia.
Emma is an E-RYT-500 with Yoga Alliance (US), a Level 3 Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia, and a Senior Member of the Meditation Association of Australia. She is also trained as a Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPTY), a Yin Yoga facilitator, and has contributed a body of writings on Yoga to publications in both Australia and the UK. She curates and delivers an ever-evolving suite of trainings, retreats, courses, dharma circles, and immersion experiences, all offered in reverence to awakening deeper awareness and realisation of true consciousness within the collective.
Emma’s love for the rich streams of philosophy continues to inspire her daily practice and teaching. First and foremost, she walks this path as a perennial student, honouring the many teachers and lineages that illuminate her way. She feels most at home when sharing these timeless teachings with others, weaving together ancient wisdom and modern life with authenticity, clarity, and devotion. A follower of the Siddha, Advaita, Kashmir Shaivism, and Śrī Vidyā lineages, she believes that what sustains the ability to hold space is an unwavering dedication to personal Sādhana. It is this devotion that forms the very foundation of Emma’s teachings of Truth, which she continues to share freely, reverentially, and lovingly.
At the heart of Emma’s work is a deep reverence for the unfolding of consciousness, both within herself and within those she guides. Her teachings arise from lived experience, disciplined practice, and a love for the profound philosophies of Yoga. With warmth, clarity, and devotion, she creates spaces where students feel supported to explore, awaken, and integrate these teachings into their own lives. For Emma, the greatest joy is witnessing the spark of understanding and transformation in others, a reflection of the timeless wisdom that flows through her own devoted practice that continues to illuminate her path.
