CULTIVATING SADHANA - Moksha Yoga

CULTIVATING SADHANA

– WITH EMMA PALMER

“Spirituality is not something set apart from life; rather, it is a plunge into the heart of existence. It is vitally important that our spirituality is in no way an avoidance of life, for then it only reinforces the unrealities that so many of us human beings feed upon.” – Adyashanti

An essential part of the path of the Yogi is establishing a devotional daily spiritual practice, referred to as Sādhana. The gifts and blessings of living a life rooted in spiritual practice are truly beyond words and the daily practice of Sādhana forms the very foundation from which we can explore the landscape of our lives firmly embedded in the presence, love and guidance of the Divine. Sādhana is the source and wellspring from which the rich wisdom teachings can reach us in the stillness of Grace, to then become infused throughout the journey of our daily life.

स तु दीर्घकालनैरन्तर्यसत्कारासेवितो दृढभूमिः

Yoga Sutra 1.14 – Satu dīrghakāla nairantrya satkārāsevito dṛḍhabhūmiḥ

“Practice, becomes firmly established when it has been cultivated uninterruptedly and with devotion over a prolonged period of time.” – Patanjali (translated by E. Bryant)

Establishing consistency is one of the most challenging aspects of a daily practice and calls us to draw upon our deepest reserves of dedication, faith, courage and perseverance from the space of a pure and open heart. “Cultivating Sādhana” is for those of you who are called to establish a daily Sādhana but aren’t sure where to start, or for those looking to refresh and cultivate consistency around an existing practice.

Join Emma to explore and experience the array of powerful spiritual practices that exist aside from the physical postures of Āsana – such as Kriyā, Prāṇāyāma, Dhāraṇā (contemplation), Dhyāna (meditation), Prārthanā (prayer) and the devotional chanting of Mantra – from which to create and cultivate your own consistent and deeply enriching daily Sādhana that’s most suited to you.

“Devotion gives you the tremendous courage you need to keep walking on the path. When it is necessary to make a great leap forward, devotion gives you wings.” – Swami Chidvilasananda
