INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY - THE DEVOTION OF SADHANA - Moksha Yoga

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY – THE DEVOTION OF SADHANA

COMPLIMENTARY EVENT WITH EMMA PALMER

“At every stage of Spiritual life, devotion is crucial: first to attract grace; then to hold grace and deepen your awareness of its presence; and finally to guide you to union with the Absolute, the source of grace.” – Swami Chidvilasananda

You are invited to join Emma Palmer in Satsang for a morning of sacred Sādhana, celebrating International Yoga Day in reverence to how this beautiful ancient practice has touched all areas of who we are and enriched the way we walk the path of our lives.

The gifts and blessings of living a life rooted in spiritual practice are truly beyond words. Sādhana (spiritual practice) is the source and wellspring of wisdom teachings that only stillness can hear in the presence of Grace. With time, dedication and perseverance the daily practice of Sādhana forms the very foundation from which we can explore the landscape of our lives firmly embedded in the presence, love and guidance of the Divine. The truth is, it takes time, courage, faith and devotion to establish a consistency of practice and, most importantly, an open heart.

स तु दीर्घकालनैरन्तर्यसत्कारासेवितो दृढभूमिः

Yoga Sutra 1.14 – Satu dīrghakāla nairantrya satkārāsevito dṛḍhabhūmiḥ

“Practice, becomes firmly established when it has been cultivated uninterruptedly and with devotion over a prolonged period of time” – Patanjali (translated by E. Bryant)

During a very special International Yoga Day Sādhana, Emma will share with you some of the spiritual practices that have formed the basis of her own morning practice. Together we will also experience, explore and contemplate a variety of ancient, traditional Yogic philosophical precepts that support you to drop into and deepen your intimate connection to the Divine essence ever present within you and all that is.

We will begin with the sacred practice of devotional chanting of Mantra with the Shruti box, followed by the cleansing and heating practices of Kriyā – incorporating a variety of Prāṇāyāma techniques and Ucchara to continue moving the energy through – before journeying even deeper into the practices of Dhāraṇā (contemplation), Dhyāna (meditation) and completing with a powerful practice of Prārthanā (prayer).

Emma is sharing these techniques and practices as a way of inspiring and supporting you to establish your own morning Sādhana, or to deepen your existing one. Early morning is the most potent time for spiritual practice, hence us commencing at 6.30am, within the Brahma Muhurta – traditionally considered to be Sattvic in nature as a time of peace and stillness where distractions are kept to a minimum. Sādhana will conclude at 9am, however if you can, we welcome you to stay on for the 9.30am Power Flow with Emma or the Beginners Yoga class with Karen.

This Sādhana event is complimentary – a gift from us to you. Please be mindful that spaces are limited, so to avoid disappointment be sure to book your place early for the complimentary Sādhana practice, as well as for any of our regular asana classes you plan to follow on with afterwards.
