“In the symphony of life, mantras are the harmonious notes that create a melody of spiritual clarity within our souls.” ~ Sri Chinmoy
COURSE DETAILS
Bridging traditional teachings with contemporary understanding of sound, breath and physiology, this highly experiential training guides you in mantra structure, rhythm and Sanskrit pronunciation, along with harmonium basics and how to craft steady Śruti box drones to support the resonance of collective chanting.
Weaving together philosophy, technique and lived experience, you’ll discover the historical and cultural roots of mantra, explore the conscious use of sound as both a meditative and embodied practice, and understand its tangible effect on the nervous system, heart and subtle energy channels. You’ll deepen your listening skills, sensitivity to vibration within the body, and develop the ability to hold a steady, grounded field for others in your facilitation that shifts the purifying nectar of mantra from performance to presence. Meet Emma Palmer
EMMA PALMER FOUNDING PRINCIPAL & DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
Emma Palmer first encountered the collective practice of chanting in 1998 upon entering the Siddha Ashram in Melbourne, an experience that profoundly shaped her personal Sādhanā and teaching. For over three decades, mantra, sacred sound, and vibration have remained a central thread in her exploration of yoga, meditation, and the subtle body.
In 2005, Emma founded Moksha Yoga Australia, where she has been cultivating a community rooted in authentic practice, lineage, and collective resonance. Since that time, she has been holding space for chanting in yoga classes, meditation settings, teacher trainings, retreats, and immersive study environments. Her approach honours the depth and integrity of the Paramparā lineage while supporting students to engage with mantra as a living, embodied practice rather than a performative one.
Emma’s teaching bridges traditional mantra and chanting practices with contemporary understandings of breath, nervous system regulation, physiology, and subtle energetic systems. She is known for her clear guidance in Saṃskṛtam (Sanskrit) pronunciation, rhythm, and mantra structure, as well as her ability to cultivate a steady, grounded field for collective resonance through chanting and Kīrtan. Her work and teachings places strong emphasis on cultural responsibility, ethical transmission, and the inner readiness required to guide others through sound-based practices.
As the Lead Facilitator of the 30-hour Chanting & Mantra Teacher Training, Emma supports students to develop confidence, sensitivity, and discernment in both personal practice and facilitation. Graduates are guided to share mantra in ways that honour lineage, regulate the nervous system, cultivate presence, and support meaningful inner and collective transformation.
