YIN YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
WITH JEN CRESCENZO
The Moksha Academy of Yoga is excited to be welcoming back Jen Crescenzo in 2019 for a new and enhanced version of her comprehensive 60-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training!
Jen has been at the forefront of Yin Yoga in Australia – teaching Melbourne’s first Yin classes and leading Yin Yoga Teacher Training around the globe. Mentored by Yin Yoga founder Paul Grilley, she is continually upgrading her vast understanding of movement, anatomy and energetics from the world’s leaders in their fields.
Yin Yoga is a liberating, mindful and highly adaptable style of Yoga that invites students to step into a more intimate relationship with each posture and explore deeper into your awareness of body, mind and subtle energy flow. In 2 progressive modules, each held over 2 weekends, you’ll develop an advanced understanding of Yin Yoga teaching methodologies, optimised sequencing and creative integration of props, while discovering a whole new level of insight into the anatomy of human movement and how to powerfully influence the flow of emotional and mental energies.
Enrolments are now open for Module Two: Yin Yoga Sequencing, starting Saturday 4 May 2019 – perfect if you’re wanting to expand, enhance and enrich your foundational understanding of Yin – sign up below!
Whether you’re looking to teach Yin Yoga at its fullest potential, add a new dimension of richness to all the Yoga experiences you deliver, or simply unlock new layers of depth in your own practice – this is the training for you!
The full training consists of 2 modules delivered over a total of 4 weekends, to create a comprehensive 60-hour certification. All modules are hosted at Moksha Yoga, 437A Centre Road, Bentleigh 3204.
Individual modules (each certified for 30 hours and delivered over 2 weekends) can be selected separately, particularly for those with previous foundational Yin training wanting to take their teaching to another level with advanced sequencing explored in Module 2. All content has been significantly enhanced from its earlier incarnations in line with Jen’s own progression, further studies and deeper exploration so no training is ever quite the same!
Each module includes detailed seminars and discussion, combined with led classes, teaching practice and ample movement play – so you can authentically integrate the concepts into your teachings through your own direct, embodied experience. All participants receive a detailed course manual for each module.
MODULE ONE: YIN YOGA FUNDAMENTALS
Saturday 2 March – Sunday 3 March 2019 and
Saturday 6 April – Sunday 7 April 2019
In this 2-weekend Module we will delve into the anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodologies of Yin Yoga. We’ll break down the movements that shape each posture, learn how to work with bodyweight and gravity to enter and exit postures more gracefully, and discover how the creative uses of props can inspire your students to find the variations and adaptations that are right for them.
You’ll develop a deeper insight into the feelings, sensations and movement barriers that may arise for your students, understand how these limitations can be worked through, and ultimately cultivate the skill of guiding students into their own unique exploration of each posture as it unfolds so they can realise their full movement potential.
MODULE TWO: YIN YOGA SEQUENCING
Saturday 4 May – Sunday 5 May 2019 and
Saturday 8 June – Sunday 9 June 2019
Your joints work together like links in a chain to allow natural, free-flowing movement. The way you organise postures in a Yin Yoga sequence can help your students find the “missing links” where they have lost the ability to move naturally and efficiently.
In this 2-weekend Module, you will discover how to optimise the effectiveness of the Yin postures and teaching methodologies through advanced sequencing – powerfully harnessing such understandings as the Anatomy Trains of Tom Myers and the Meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These maps describe how energy travels through your body and how you can work with joints and connective tissues to restore the flow of energy.

“Jen’s Yin course was outstanding. It has given me not only a better appreciation of the practice, but the skill set and confidence to create intelligent, creative sequencing that supports the body. Jen’s guidance on the use of postures, props and modifications has also enabled me to better suit the practice to every individual. Jen has also had a great influence on the way I now teach Yin. I highly recommend Jen’s course for anyone interested in either teaching or practicing Yin Yoga.”

“When I looked to increase my own personal knowledge of Yin Yoga, there was no better choice than Yin Yoga teacher training with Jennifer. Her curiosity and ability to translate, for all audiences, the incredible research she has completed into human movement (at a cellular level) is remarkable. If you have the chance to train with this wonderful lady, don’t pass by the opportunity.”
– Mary Willis
“Brilliant delivery Jennifer. You’ve done the hard work. I would train with you again for sure. One of the best teachers I’ve come across offering contemporary knowledge infused with ancient wisdom.”
